Basic research at FLI aims at understanding the biological mechanisms that lead to age-related impairments and diseases.

Although many biomedical processes can already be investigated using alternative methods, the aging process in his complexity can currently only be analyzed in a complete organism. This is why our research relies on animal experiments, including mice. On the following pages, we introduce the animal facility mouse.
