On October 22, the FLI had the pleasure of welcoming a distinguished delegation from Georgia, representing major clinics and medical companies. The group visited Thuringia to learn more about the region’s vibrant life sciences sector, to explore opportunities for collaboration with Thuringian research institutions, companies, and clinics, and to identify potential partners for research cooperation as well as for the procurement of medical technology and equipment.
During the visit, Dr. Wilfried Briest, Research Coordinator, presented insights into the FLI’s research activities in the field of aging and age-related diseases. Lisa Adam, Senior Lab Technician, guided the guests through the laboratories and research facilities, offering a closer look at the institute’s infrastructure and ongoing projects. Dr. Maria Ermolaeva, Senior Group Leader, presented several exciting projects with real-world potential for improving health outcomes, sparking lively discussions about possible future collaborations.
The exchange offered valuable opportunities to discuss potential areas of cooperation in research, innovation, and healthcare technology, and to strengthen international connections between Georgia and Thuringia, particularly with the FLI.
