Two Students of the FSU Honours Program at the FLI

With the Honours Program of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena, highly talented and research-oriented students of all disciplines are supported to provide them with in-depth insights into research processes during their studies as well as to prepare them for a scientific career in the future.

In interdisciplinary exchange, students also learn to look beyond their own disciplines, gain insights into different subject cultures, and at the same time can sharpen their view of their own scientific work.

Among the 64 students newly admitted to the Honours Program in July 2023, two of them are also involved professionally at the FLI and are supervised by FLI group leaders.

  • Hannah Knaudt studies Biochemistry (Faculty of Biosciences) and is supervised by Dr. Alessandro Ori, head of the research group "Aging of Protein Complexes".
  • Charlotte Ohl is studying Molecular Medicine (Faculty of Medicine). She is supervised by Prof. Christoph Englert, head of the research group "Molecular Genetics of Aging".

We wish both students good luck with their research work at FLI!
