The new day care centre Kita Beutenberg on Beutenberg Campus Jena has been ceremonially opened on September 8th, 2011 in the presence of Thüringen’s minister of cultural affairs Christoph Matschie. Provider of the day care centre is the Studentenwerk Thüringen.

The Kita Beutenberg is, amongst others, available to the employees of the Beutenberg Campus institutions and can host up to 62 children. 30 of these places are provided for the care of children under two years of age.

In addition to a bilingual education for the children with English as a second language, the day care centre offers more flexible opening hours, that are adapted to the working hours in “science & research”. Employees of the Leibniz Institute for Age Research are already making use of this new offer for their children.
