German Network for Bioinformatics Infrastructure & ELIXIR-DE

de.NBI is a national, academic, and non-profit research infrastructure established in 2015 and supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
Its primary objectives include providing top-tier bioinformatics tools and services for life sciences and biomedicine, offering extensive training through workshops and courses, and supplying cloud computing resources to academia in Germany. The initiative facilitates knowledge transfer between academia and industry via its Industrial Forum and promotes collaboration within the German bioinformatics community and international networks like ELIXIR Europe. Comprising eight interconnected service centers and many research groups. Additionally, since August 2016, it has operated as the German Node of ELIXIR. As of 2022, Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH has been tasked with consolidating de.NBI's efforts.
