In recognition of our excellent equal opportunities policies, we were for the second time awarded with the TEQ Certificate on Novemer 9 in Nuremberg.
On November 9, the FLI's Administrative Director, Dr. Daniele Barthel, and Equal Opportunity Officer Dr. Kerstin Wagner traveled to Nuremberg to receive the Total E-Quality award for the second time, following their first win in 2013, this time with the add-on “Diversity.”
TOTAL E-QUALITY Deutschland e.V. awarded the prize to companies and institutions that have demonstrated exemplary commitment to equality and work-life balance. The jury particularly praised the high standard of the FLI's equality work in the past few years, not only in maintaining but even further expanding the institute's achievements.
In 2016, the FLI also received the add-on “Diversity,”which honors additional measures to support the diverse cultural backgrounds of employees. As one of the most international institutes in the Leibniz Association, the FLI has employees from more than 30 countries; nearly half of the scientists are not from Germany. In addition to the FLI, the two other Leibniz Institutes in Jena, HKI and IPHT, have also received the award, demonstrating the excellent anchoring of equality work within the Leibniz Association.
