On Monday, August 28th, the FLI was awarded the certificate "swallow-friendly house" by Thuringian NABU (Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union).

German NABU (Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union) honors institutions and companies that build or maintain swallow nests at their buildings with the certificate "swallow-friendly house". Dr. Christoph Kaether received the certificate from Dr. Dietrich von Knorre on Monday, August 28th.

During the last years, 12 new man-made nests have been sponsored by FLI employees and installed below the roof overhangs of two FLI buildings. The future installment of further nests is planned after reconstruction works at FLI building 3 will have been finished.
