Since July, Ukrainian scientist Dr. Yuliya Kurlishchuk has been conducting research at the FLI.

Her two-year research stay at the Leibniz Institute on Aging - Fritz Lipmann Institute (FLI) in Jena is made possible by a research fellowship of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. The foundation supports postdocs at the beginning of their scientific career by funding extended periods of research at outstanding scientific institutions in Germany. Dr. Yuliya Kurlishchuk is guest in the Lab of Dr. Björn von Eyss at FLI. During her stay she is going to investigate the role of the transcriptional factor YAP on cell proliferation, which has implications on tissue homeostasis, stem cell biology and tumor growth.
