Welcoming New Staff at the FLI –
Our Commitment to a Smooth Start

At the Leibniz Institute on Aging – Fritz Lipmann Institute (FLI), we are committed to providing all new staff with a smooth and well-supported start.

Welcoming new colleagues is a joint effort that involves research groups, administrative teams, and management – working together to ensure that everyone feels part of our community from day one.

For international researchers, joining the FLI often means more than just starting a new job. It can involve relocating to Germany, adapting to a new cultural environment, and navigating unfamiliar systems. To support this transition, the FLI offers a dedicated Welcome Service for Internationals.

This service provides confidential, free, and tailored support, helping new international staff manage essential steps such as registering with local authorities, finding accommodation, understanding health insurance and social security, and settling into daily life in Jena.
