Share Knowledge, Support Learning: Undergraduates at FLI

It’s of great importance to us to share our scientific knowledge with young scientists.

Many members of the FLI are heavily involved in several aspects of teaching at the Friedrich Schiller University (FSU), and most of the FLI senior group leaders have joint appointments as Professors at FSU.

Thus, we can provide students of life sciences and nature sciences with theoretical knowledge as well as with insides into daily laboratory life and research practice.

The FLI also provides supervision for Bachelor’s and Master’s theses from different universities.

Student assistant positions (Hiwi contracts) can only be offered for tasks that are unrelated to the research topics of students’ final theses.

Mentoring Program of the Junior-GBM

The mentoring program of the Junior-GBM is aimed at high school students who want to study life sciences (biology, biochemistry, molecular medicine, etc.). This is organized by young members of the Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology - jGBM.

All participating students are assigned a mentor near their place of residence or directly at their desired place of study, who accompanies them in their search for a place at the university or in their entry into the university.
