We are looking for a highly motivated PhD student to join our research group working on the biological function of DNA damage response (DDR) in vivo. The successful candidate is expected to conduct the thesis work on the function of specific molecules, PARP1, MRN, ATR that regulate DNA damage signaling and repair, as well as cell cycle checkpoint, using mouse and cellular models. We are particularly interested in deciphering the DDR in the fate determination of stem cells and the maintenance of tissue homeostasis.
During the study, the student will expose to various molecular, genetic and cellular technologies and also to extensive training in presentation and discussion of scientific discoveries. The position is for three years and is suitable for candidates who have a solid knowledge or experience in biochemistry, molecular biology, or cell biology. The primary working language at the FLI is English.

The contract conditions and the salary will be according to the collective labor agreement for public service employees of the Federal State of Germany (TV-L E13) with 50% in the first year and 65% in the following years.
