We are looking for two highly motivated PhD students to support our team in hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) research focusing on the regulation of blood stem cell function. We use state of the art technologies to uncover novel cell intrinsic and cell extrinsic mechanisms important for HSC function in the embryo and throughout life. Our team focuses on HSCs from mice and human and we have a particular interest in uncovering and modulating pathways important for stem cell fate choice decisions in vivo.
We are seeking for highly motivated individuals to support a project on gene transfer for the treatment of primary immune deficiencies using human hematopoietic progenitor cells, and second, to investigate the impact of embryonic macrophages on the emergence of HSCs in mice. We are a young and dynamic research team and we are looking for someone very reliable and communicative that has fun of getting involved in research on hematopoiesis. Experience with mouse work is of advantage but not a prerequisite for a successful application. The positions are available immediately.
The FLI is excellently equipped with state-of-the-art facilities like next-generation DNA sequencing (NGS) technology, proteomics, functional genomics, imaging and more.

The contract conditions and the salary will be according to the collective labor agreement for public service employees of the Federal State of Germany (TV-L E13 50-65%).
