Finance

The Finance Department is responsible for all financial processes and payments at the research institute, thereby making a significant contribution to the work of the researchers. The main tasks of the Finance Department are external accounting, including financial accounting, auditing, and asset accounting, as well as the reimbursement of researchers' travel expenses. It is also the contact point for administrative advice and support for third-party funded projects.

The department checks that all financial processes are in line with the state budget regulations, the guidelines of the funding bodies, and the legal requirements of the German Commercial Code (HGB), Value Added Tax Act (UStG), and Income Tax Act (EStG).

It assists the Board of Directors with liquidity planning and management, drawing up the program budget, and preparing annual financial statements and statements of use.
