The compatibility of family and professional life is a central part of equality oriented, family-friendly and thus progressive research. As a member of the Leibniz Association, equal opportunities are part of the self-conception of the Leibniz Institute on Aging – Fritz Lipmann Institute (FLI) in Jena.

That’s why we provide our employees with a parent-child-room, collaborate with neighbored Kindergartens and are active members of the Jenaer Bündnis für Familie and Dual Career Networks.

As an important building block towards the implementation of equality oriented research standards, FLI applied successfully for the Total-E-Quality Award in 2013. The main focus was on the compatibility of family and work. In 2016, we were re-awarded the Certificate with the Add-On "Diversity" and an excellent evaluation.
